Job Description

The Aerospace Defence Key Account Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing the strategic and operational business for a selection of key Aerospace and Defence accounts, with the focus on exceeding sales goals whilst achieving profitable growth for the business.  To achieve this the individual should;

  • Have a good understanding of the UK Aerospace Defence industry, the key drivers and challenges facing this sector over the coming years
  • Be able to design and execute strategic business plans that demonstrate a win-win ethos
  • Be able to engage with both internal and external stakeholders to enable successful execution of strategies and promote Keysight’s unique value
  • Anticipate customer needs, investigates underlying causes and identifies short term or long term solutions; creates and leads business development plans over the short to medium term
  • Pro-actively engage with industry to identify new business opportunities through prospecting and networking
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, looking to improve your visibility with senior leadership
  • Explore adjacent business opportunities outside of the main T&M solutions
  • Challenge the status-quo and be able to work within teams to engage at increasingly higher levels of business management
  • Have a broader, solutions-based approach to selling to enable deeper insights into customer challenges.
  • Be able to manage a sales funnel accurately and with sufficient forward planning over a 6 month period


Key Metrics

- Delivery on-quota results

- Show growth in Solutions and Services based opportunities

- Manage discounts in line with targets – improving bottom line



Job Qualifications

Job Qualifications

  • A successful Test & Measurement sales experience in selling to the Aerospace-Defence market in UK (minimum 5 years) - Sales experience should ideally include selling to major accounts.
  • An excellent understanding the electronic Aerospace Defence market in UK
  • Track record in major account management, solutions & services selling
  • Strong communications skills for both external & internal interactions
  • Ability to travel (50%)
  • A Degree or equivalent in Electronics / Engineering background is advantageous
