Job Description

Responsible for the development of market/product line business plans and strategic marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments, identify volume and strategic customers, and develop partnerships. Requires the ability to analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities, develop strategic direction from market information, and create compelling market analysis presentation. Enables sales by identifying and developing business opportunities and providing information and support for the sales force. May be responsible for interfacing with customers through company channels marketing program. Pre-sales duties include providing pricing information and communicating schedule changes and product enhancements to distributors, OEMs and resellers. Post-sales duties include resolving issues such as researching status of customers’ orders, providing information on possible product problems and resolving shipping, scheduling and prioritization problems. May perform short-term sales forecasting for designated product lines.

At Keysight's Automotive & Energy Solution unit, we have 80 dedicated people who are addressing customer business problems in the Automotive and Energy industry segment by developing and designing solution offerings along a customer's set of requirements and product life cycle. Our products are typically used to develop and qualify products and services in R&D and manufacturing, which are commonly associated with the most advanced test challenges for automotive (connected car, autonomous driving, automotive electronics etc.) and energy (optimized battery structures, low-loss energy conversion etc.) applications

As an Expert-Level Business Development Engineer, you primarily focus on the development and implementation of key customer (e.g. BYD, SAIC) driven projects from requirements management to implementation. Your technical expertise along with your project management skills will be the key success factor to drive complex projects to success - this will sometimes need to happen across multiple customer sites and possibly countries. You will develop strategies on how to deploy market available solutions into Keysight's customer base along their product lifecycle and project requirements. The target customer base for this BDE position is in Greater China.


Your main objectives can be described as followed:

• Handle complex customer inquiries, solution requests and escalations on a daily basis with focus on the defined target customer basis
• Interface directly or through sales channel with customers in order to define and drive current and future solution offerings (e.g. road map sharing, requirements for future test needs)
• Qualify customer inquiries, manage and drive solution implementation decisions together with internal solution planners and lead customer communication and issue resolution interactions
• Define and drive sales training efforts for Keysight's technical sales staff focused on target customer segment
• Actively support our field force and channel partners in deal closing activities
• Funnel management and forecasting
• Support customer facing activities (trade-shows, seminars)       

  • Develop strategies how to extend Keysight’s reach into the Automotive and Energy market in Greater China  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or equivalent

• Expert level experience in Automotive and Energy applications (batteries, HEV/EV, ADAS, radar technology, Smart Grid)

  • Deep understanding of and a good network into the Automotive and Energy ecosystem in Greater China

• Ability to transform complex customer needs and requirements into an end-to-end solution offering
• Proven project management skills; especially in complex and multi-site sales situations
• A customer-first and holistic solution-oriented mindset with positive and aggressive sales oriented attitude.
• Demonstrated rapid skill development (on new technologies and markets) and progressively increased responsibility
• Ability to work in a multi-discipline, international, cross-functional teams
• Proven sales development experience; field/sales experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Chinese native speaker. Other languages are a plus
