R&D Software Architect and Developer

Job Description

The Aerospace Defense Government Solutions (ADGS) R&D team is looking for an experienced SW architect to lead development of state-of-the-art application solutions for the A/D industry.  ADGS develops world-leading solutions used to design and test the latest advanced A/D systems and components including satellite systems, RADAR and other RF and Microwave components and systems.

As a principal SW architect, lead the design and implementation of new application frameworks for software solutions that interact with Keysight’s test and measurement hardware.  Modalities of hardware include network analyzers, signal sources, and spectrum analyzers.

Position Responsibilities

  • Be the lead architect for ADGS R&D.
  • Work with a team of software engineers and measurement scientists to develop new applications written in C#/C++, WPF and MVVM concepts, and other software development modalities.
  • Learn the architecture of the existing applications.
  • Work with the project’s engineering team to help design and implement user interfaces for new capabilities being added to existing applications.
  • Understand existing WPF custom user controls, styles and themes and be able to modify them and create new ones.
  • Work in the Visual Studio 2010+, 2015, and 2017 development environments and Team Foundation tools for version control and task management.
  • Design UI elements based on established company-provided branding and UI guidelines.
  • Assist in the creation of clear and complete documentation for all new classes, methods and properties added to the solution.
  • Create software requirement and design documentation for new projects
  • Lead the software organization through transitions to new tool chains and new software development technologies
  • Champion the Agile development process in the organization and mentor new engineers in using the development tools and processes 

Job Qualifications


  • 10+ years in SW development.
  • Proven expert level experience in .NET/WPF/C#/C++ with special emphasis in user interface design and development and MVVM architectural patterns.
  • General programming skills, software design, software debugging, software documentation, and software testing.
  • Ability to analyze user requirements and to translate requirements into working solutions.
  • Ability to solve problems without extensive guidance and proven ability to work well in a team of developers.
  • Familiarity with localization techniques and ability to design easily localizable interfaces.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • US citizenship.


  • Master’s degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent.
