Job Description

Education Business Development Manager (Americas Region)

The position focuses on business development activities with universities & researchers to increase our wallet and market share for the education business segment. This person is expected to understand the key areas of research and teaching market needs, helping the sales team with solution development/know-how, address funnel and increase our collaborations with education customers. Besides customer focus, the candidate must also be able to provide market intelligence to assist in solution roadmap and development for the internal team. This position will also be leading the BEPU program support for the Americas region. Key activities:

 

Business Development

  • Understand the education market dynamics and drivers, technology trends, emerging customer needs, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Own business plan to target the critical growth areas, and drive business investments to maximize ROI.
  • Provide support to the sales team to engage key customers as needed, BEPU program, strategic discount, and solution development.
  • Responsible for regional business growth and gross margin target.
  • Regional funnel management, and support to increase conversion rate.
  • Identify new opportunities for solution development based on emerging research trends.
  • Provide feedback on solution roadmap development (both research and teaching needs)

 

Enable Lead Generation

  • Generates well-qualified leads by engaging targeted customers and events.
  • Provide training & collaterals on a new solution for the sales team.
  • Leverage key success stories to increase winning rate.
  • Reach beyond the traditional ECE departments to increase our customer base (Physics, Mechatronics, Biomedical, etc.)

 

Align with Keysight Education resource

  • Align with KEP (Keysight Education Program) initiatives, ensuring long term branding through sustainable business goal.
  • Collaborates with other functions (marketing, HR, Labs) on various education programs to maximize business and branding recognition.

Job Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelors or Master Degree or University Degree or equivalent Typically 10 to 12+ years relevant experience for entry to this level.
  • Results oriented, demonstrated track record of success delighting customers and delivering solutions to market.
  • Outstanding leadership and teamwork skills to effectively influence strategy and gain alignment across all levels of planning
  • Effective oral and written communications.  Ability to deliver effective training to internal field partners, solution partners or to enable customers to understand Keysight solution benefits.
  • Willing to travel > 30% of the time

 

Desired

  • Strong understanding of where the money comes from for research. Experience with grant writing and/or university buying behavior/ process.
  • Extensive knowledge in research solution/field such as quantum information, advanced materials, mmW/THz applications, wireless comm research, electronic devices and circuit, photonics, etc
