Business Development Solutions Architect

Job Description

The Business Development Solutions Architect will provide technical leadership and support to Keysight’s (Ixia Solutions Group) Business Development team, and the sales/SE team to expand and deepen Keysight’s partnership with technology partners.  Technology partners include leading providers of cloud, performance management, network security, virtualization, and automation. The successful candidate will be a skilled influencer able to assess partner and end customer needs and facilitate solutions unique to their business. This is position which requires both strong hands on technical skills, as well as business acumen, customer facing demeanor and presentation ability. The position requires 25% travel.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years pre-sales experience as a systems engineer, architect or similar role at a cloud, networking, monitoring, or security company, including involvement in the sales process
  • Experience working with data communications, switching, routing (e.g. Cisco)
  • Experience working with server OS (e.g. Linux), virtualization (e.g. VMWare) & Cloud (i.e. AWS)
  • Solid problem solving skills, decision making and use of initiative
  • Experience building technical scenarios in a lab
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven negotiating skills, influencing abilities, and partner development experience
  • Goal oriented and self-motivated
  • Able to work independently but also in a team environment

Some of the following experience is also Desirable;

  • 10+ years of overall relevant experience
  • Relevant technical certifications, recognition in specialties 
  • Additional Private and/or Public Cloud infrastructure types (e.g. Openstack, Azure)
  • Power user level skills with APIs and scripting (e.g. REST, Shell, Python)
  • Automation and Orchestration (e.g. Docker, Chef)
  • Testing tool skills (e.g. traffic generators, simulators)
  • MBA and/or Master's level technical degree

Job Function

The Business Development Solutions Architect is a key member of the Ixia Solution Group team, within Keysight, whose duties and responsibilities include;

  • Helping to identify new strategic opportunities for Keysight to grow and solve customers’ problems by collaborating with technology partners, and assisting the team with recruiting new partners.
  • Finding opportunities to provide value added integrations with partners, & helping to implement them.
  • Training & supporting technology partners’ SE/sales teams to help drive joint pre-sales opportunities.
  • Training Keysight SE/sales teams in joint technology solution & providing pre sales support as needed
  • Understanding partner and customer needs and effectively positioning Keysight and partner solutions to solve those problems.
  • Presenting to senior level people at partners, customers, and at industry trade shows.
  • Collaborating with product management, & marketing on technology partners’ needs.
  • Hands on lab work creating & maintaining lab infrastructure, demonstrations & scripts, interoperability testing
  • Writing solution briefs, reference architectures, marketing plans, and other documentation.
