FPGA Designer experienced in wireless signal processing solutions to create a 3GPP 5G NR and 4G LTE Advanced Pro mobile phone emulation platform for a state of the art network infrastructure test product.




This is one of those rare opportunities to continuously challenge your own creativity and design skills by designing solutions for the fast-moving world of mobile communications based on 3GPP standards for 5G NR and 4G LTE Advanced Pro - the technologies powering your smartphone today and for the next several years.  You will join a highly talented and motivated team of hardware and software engineers creating a state-of-the-art commercial test system.   Based on the very latest generation of FPGAs and multi-core CPUs - and combined with the scalability of distributed virtual systems - the test equipment must stay ahead of the mainstream offerings for both 5G NR and LTE because it is used by equipment manufacturers and carriers to validate their designs before operation in the field.  You have the opportunity to contribute to new and emerging technologies as well as advancing the functionality of existing technologies.

Job Qualifications


Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Wireless Communications - or equivalent industry experience


  • PhD Degree and/or wireless processing algorithm development experience is a strong advantage, preferably in 5G NR, LTE, WiMax, or WiFi products
  • 7+ years of experience developing state-of-the-art signal processing functions in FPGAs or ASICs
  • Proven ability to develop digital logic solutions with multiple clock domains, ultra-high-speed serial interfaces, and baseband signal processing functions for wireless applications
  • Deep knowledge of VHDL, and a working knowledge of Verilog
  • Strong skills with simulation tools, synthesis/placement/routing tools and the ability to quickly address timing or resource constraint issues in dense FPGAs
  • Ability to choose when to “develop from scratch” and when to purchase 3rd party IP, providing excellent justification
  • Solid track record of on-time delivery of quality work with a high degree of productivity and professionalism
  • Extremely good English verbal communications skills and a desire for strong team collaboration is a must in this Agile development environment

Job Function



Research, analysis and high-level system design to support new and evolving 3GPP 5G NR and LTE Advanced Pro modem signal processing features in an FPGA implementation. 

  • Close and continuous collaboration with peers in FPGA design and software design using the Agile development methodology. 
  • Ownership of your pieces of specification, design, development, and validation of specific features
  • Support other team members encountering challenges and accept help with your own challenges during each “Sprint” for team success in the sprint goals. 
  • Full ownership of the delivery of features from the implementation phase through the QA and field delivery phases
  • Contribution to the on-going improvement of tools and processes leading to increased quality and productivity, including automation, regression tests and new frameworks as needed.
  • Contribution to the strong pool of intellectual property at Keysight through constant innovation and patent application efforts
