Job Description

R&D DevOps / SW Engineer

Join the Keysight Technologies Engineering Services Team!  In Engineering Services you will design and develop processes, tools, and systems that will be used by SW engineers throughout Keysight.  You will use engineering concepts, research various techniques, and then design, document, and deploy your tools and processes to our engineering community.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Increase software developer productivity and efficiency by recommending and implement SW development tools and processes.  Own the tools/process roadmap - identify opportunities to improve existing tools or implement new tools and solutions.  Lead the team that will implement and support these tools.  Develop online Confluence documentation.  Deliver training via our Engineering Services Brown Bags.  Collaborate with our SW R&D community and our IT colleagues.

  • SW build and test tools expert
  • Expertise w/ Microsoft TFS and Team Build
  • Develop or have expertise w/ Jenkins Build
  • Artifactory (JFrog)
  • Pursue new package and repo technologies.
  • Ensure our environment is high performance.
  • Provide consulting and training.
  • SW IP security
  • End Point Security e.g. Carbon Black, Symantec, McAfee
  • Code obfuscation e.g. Dotfuscator
  • SW code signing
  • Virtual Machine environments for the purpose of SW build, test, and development including:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Keysight Slickrock VMs

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. A Master’s degree is preferred.

7-10 years’ experience in managing Software Development Life cycle applications & tools, especially Atlassian tools, Microsoft – Team Foundation Server.

  • Source Code Management (TFS TFVC, Git, Bitbucket Git)
  • Defect Management & Tracking (TFS WIT and Jira)
  • Build Management
  • Test & Release management
  • IDE:  Visual Studio
  • 5+ years experience in Software development, on both the Windows and the Linux platforms
  • Experience on Agile, Scrum, & Kanban based Software Development
  • 3-5 years experience in providing multi-tier Software Solutions for large/global R&D functional teams.
  • Well-versed in translating business requirements & define strategic IT roadmaps.
  • Strong communication skills & able to work with cross functional IT & business teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the working knowledge of infrastructure components.
  • Well demonstrated experience in handing critical escalations & to be able to deliver under pressure
  • Versatile, flexible & passionate towards learning. A critical thinker. Able to lead & positively influence the team
  • Experience in Systems Administration & understanding of various Operating Systems platforms & technologies:
  • Windows
  • Linux
  • Prior DevOps experience
