Job Description

Provides remote post-sales technology support and technical services to external customers and/or internal field personnel utilizing remote diagnostic capabilities. This includes reactive actions that result in a timely and cost effective problem resolution for customer and proactive preventive actions. May support 3rd party products and occasionally visit customer site. Leverages post sales interactions with customers to probe and qualify further revenue opportunities. May book transactional sales opportunities and provides highly qualified leads to sales.

Role

You would be part of the Keysight “Network Emulation Solutions” (NES), Solution Support Organisation, delivering post-sales customer support for 4G & 5G test solutions direct to key customers.

Drawing on a strong protocol background, provide specialist technical support directly to Keysight customers running NES Conformance and Operator Acceptance test solutions.

The successful candidate will be a bright and proactive engineer with theoretical and practical knowledge of 4G & 5G L3 protocol testing and good communicator that enjoys taking on complex technical challenges.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Delivery of technical product knowledge and practical knowhow to customers, maximising product usage and benefit.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical system level and configuration issues on site with key customer.
  • Test system automation design, setup and verification.
  • Providing high quality analysis of suspected product defects and enhancement requests that require rapid escalation to tier 2 support teams at Keysight R&D centres.
  • Ownership of technical issues within the region and maintaining oversight through to resolution.
  • Provide regular management reports on customer support status and priorities.
  • Develop strong relationship with Key customers and provide to them clear status updates and summary reports.
  • Providing hands-on technical training and product demonstration to customers.
  • Proposal of future enhancements for products and user documentation.
  • Collaborate with customer and R&D team to modify of MNO protocol scripts and working independently when necessary.

 

Job Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree or University Degree or equivalent. Typically 4-5 years relevant experience for entry to this level. Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in job and ability to work independently.

 

Required Skills

Essential:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in both English and Japanese.
  • Good engineering or science degree.
  • At least 4 years’ experience with System level RF in the telecommunications industry with proven practical experience of L1 and radio propagation.
  • Working knowledge of 3G/4G/5G L1 air interface protocols.
  • Experience with code or script development in C, C++, C#
  • Available for international travel if required
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proactive learner with a positive “can do” attitude.

 

Higley Desirable

  • Background in customer support/collaboration or technical customer facing roles
  • Experience of SW development, source code management and defect tracking systems
  • Practical experience of test system configuration and automation
  • Software programming experience. Experience with Perl and C/C++ is an advantage.
  • Mobile channel modelling simulation abilities using matlab.
  • Protocol L2/L3 and signalling knowledge of wireless technologies and standards (802.11, 2G/3G, LTE and LTE-A)
  • Experience in test automation.
  • Customer oriented and commercially aware.
