Job Description

 

  • Leads the design/delivery of technical solutions to customers, based on Ixia Wi-Fi products and Hawkeye Active monitoring solutions.
  • Keeps abreast of market trends and competitive products, and identifies competitive differentiators.
  • Engaged throughout the sales process, including requirements analysis, feature demonstrations, benchmarking, competitive positioning, and execution. Owns the deal’s technical closure.
  • Understands customer’s technology, products, test requirements to recommend solutions to meet their needs, and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • May build proof of concept test setup based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the solution, often requiring rapid prototyping.
  • Integrates Ixia products and services at the system/solutions level into customer’s environment and ensures interoperability within the customer environment.
  • Acts as the customer voice to influence future product design to meet customer needs.
  • May deliver customer training classes and consulting related to installed solution and provide post-sales support when needed.
Job Qualifications

 

  • BS Computer/Electrical Engineering
  • Typically, 5+ years practical experience
  • Minimum 3-5  years of experience as a Pre-Sales SE for a network vendor
  • Strong hands-on experience with IP networking configuration and deployment
  • Switching: Understanding of Campus Switching Designs, 2 and 3-tier models, STP avoidance, etc.
  • Routing: OSPF, BGP, VLAN, etc.
  • Automation Technologies and scripting skills: TCL, Python literacy
  • General command line Linux skills
  • Strong hands on troubleshooting skills with firewalls and IP networking
  • Must have strong background in Networking and WiFi technologies
  • Working WiFi experience
  • Security: FW Rule Design, IPsec VPN
  • Possess a solid understanding of network protocols (IP, UDP, TCP)
  • Excellent initiative & ability to align broad strategic and tactical goals
  • Great customer facing skills; builds credibility and confidence in Ixia’s service offerings
  • Collaborative and cross functional style - works with sales, development and marketing teams to aid in growing sales business.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Clear communicator with customers and peers
  • Ability to live with and resolve ambiguity
  • Travel required (minimum 50%)
