Keysight’s Automotive & Energy Solutions unit addresses the high growth applications in the automotive and energy industry that include general motor electronics, connected cars and automotive radar, as well as power management, smart grid and renewable energy converters.  In close collaboration with our customers, our worldwide teams design and develop solution offerings for the Automotive and Energy industry segment that directly address customer business needs. Such solutions are typically used to develop and qualify products and services in R&D and manufacturing, which are commonly associated with the most advanced test challenges for automotive (e.g. connected car, autonomous driving) and energy (e.g. optimized battery structures, low-loss energy conversion) applications.

 

As an Advanced-Level Business Development Engineer, you will primarily focus on the development and implementation of strategic customer projects, and the development of strategies how to deploy market-ready solutions into the customer base, along their product lifecycle requirements. Your technical expertise, business acumen, and project management skills will be key factors to drive complex projects to success. Based on your previous work experience and in-depth market/application knowledge, you will be able to quickly approach Automotive & Energy target accounts and penetrate them in a holistic and deterministic way. The target customer base for this expert level position is located in the EMEAI region.

 

Your main objectives are:

 

  • Develop customer engagement and penetration activities in order to deterministically and holistically develop business opportunities for an assigned set of target customers
  • Interface directly or through the sales channel with customers in order to support and define current and future solution offerings (e.g. roadmap sharing, requirements future test needs)
  • Handle complex customer inquiries, solution requests and escalations with focus on the assigned target customers
  • Qualify customer inquiries, manage and drive solution implementation decisions together with internal solution planners, and lead customer communication and issue resolution interactions
  • Define and drive sales training efforts for Keysight’s technical sales staff focused on target customer segment
  • Actively support Keysight’s field and channel partners in deal closing activities, incl. funnel management and forecasting
  • Support customer facing activities (e.g. trade-shows, seminars)
  • It will be your responsibility to actively support the establishment of the Böblingen Automotive Customer Center. In collaboration with the EMEAI sales team, you will develop and execute plans to ensure that the Automotive Customer Center is used to effectively penetrate the Automotive Ecosystem in Europe (e.g. a calendar of seminars, hands-on workshops, specific customer events etc.).
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • minimum 5+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge in automotive & energy related applications and associated test requirements (primarily power applications)
  • Ability to transform complex customer needs and requirements into an end-to-end solution offering
  • Proven project management skills.
  • A customer-first and holistic solution-oriented mindset paired with positive and aggressive sales attitude
  • Demonstrated rapid skill development (on new technologies and markets) and progressively increased responsibility
  • Ability to work in multi-discipline, international, cross-functional teams
  • Proven sales development experience; field/sales experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English (C2 level). Other languages are a plus
